The Notts Footpaths Preservation Society was formed in 1933 to help preserve Nottinghamshire’s neglected footpaths.
Today we still monitor our County’s much-improved footpath network, but in addition, we publish two six-month walk programmes covering Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas, offering short, medium and longer walks for retired people on Tuesdays.
There are two walks per month in winter, more in summer, to cater for the many newcomers we attract each year. We have almost doubled since 2006! Our small Society fully supports the new Guided Walks Partnership.

The Ramblers' Association Nottingham Area |
Currently there are 13 Ramblers Walking Groups in the county each with its own walks programme.
Walks vary in distance and take place in a variety of locations both within and outside of the county.
Most groups walk on a Sunday but many now have additional walks on weekdays.

We have more than 500 walks
taking place every week, from short relaxing strolls to more challenging hikes. And with Ramblers Groups
in every corner of the country, including a growing number for walkers in their 20s and 30s and for young
families, there really is something to suit every taste.
You don’t need to walk with us as a member, but if you
do, you’ll enjoy meeting new faces while benefiting from the skills and experience of our volunteer walks leaders.
When you join the Ramblers, your membership extends well beyond our groups.
Crucially, your
support enables us to continue our work to protect footpaths and secure access for walkers across the UK,
now and in the future.
Join us today and get even more out of walking.
